Favorite LA Brunch Spots

Favorite Los Angeles Brunch Spots on Shannon Did What?

Brunch is arguably one of the best parts of the weekend.  You've probably seen some of these pictures if you follow my instagram. I've been doing tons of research for my first favorite brunch spots post.  I will gladly keep researching just to write these posts for you!  I know a lot of people may seek out bottomless style brunches, but I'm always on the hunt for great food and a pretty space to eat in.  Maybe one of these days I'll put together a strictly boozy brunch spot list, so stay tuned!  These here are a few of my favorite Los Angeles weekend brunch spots:

OLIVE & THYME

TOLUCA LAKE/BURBANK AREA
A favorite lunch spot of mine in Toluca Lake has quickly turned into one of my new favorite breakfast spots.  Come here to enjoy a delicious breakfast and tasty coffee in a bright and airy space.  You can even pick up gifts here from candles and gourmet chocolate to macaroons.

SQIRL

SILVERLAKE AREA
Is it just me or every time you "Squirrel", you kind of shout it and immediately think of Disney movie Up?  Swirl with no 'u' is a tiny brunch spot in Silverlake.  Expect to wait in a long line or get here early since it is first come, first serve, but it's all worth it for their ricotta toast smothered in homemade fresh ricotta and a jam of your choosing. The sorrel rice bowls are amazing, too.  Don't forget to add bacon!

THE HART & THE HUNTER

WEST HOLLYWOOD AREA
Located inside the Pali hotel on Melrose, it is pretty easy to miss this little gem.  It's a quaint little place to grab breakfast with friends.  Try the breakfast croquet madame.  It's the most rich and creamy, cheesy breakfast and so delicious.  Probably best to share with a friend!  They take reservations, by the way!

WILLIE JANE

VENICE AREA
There are really so many great little eateries in the Venice and Abbot Kinney area, but I think Willie Jane deserves a shout out.  The quaint covered back patio is the perfect spot to enjoy some brunch.  The fried chicken and waffles has a little kick and super tasty.  The giant breakfast burger is amazing too [shown below].  Order the Kings Hawaiian cinnamon french toast sticks.  They need no explanation.  Oh ya and just a little perk, they do have bottomless mimosas here!

COMMISSARY

KOREA TOWN AREA
The Commissary at the Line hotel is K-town is probably the prettiest of all the spaces on the list.  It is literally a functioning greenhouse and the food does not disappoint.  The hotel itself is really awesome, so you can explore a little to walk off that delicious breakfast.  Commissary gets 2 pictures because that greenhouse is just too pretty to not show.  Make a reservation here, they can get crowded.

I'm always on the hunt for new restaurants to try, so if you have any suggestions, send them my way!  I've got a whole list of places to try so like I said, stay tuned for PART TWO!
